Mission
The mission of the Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association (District 5) Student Leadership Council is to create a memorable annual convention, develop leadership, and further the athletic training profession for both athletic training students and certified athletic trainers through enhanced communication and transparency.
Vision
The vision of the Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association (District 5) Student Leadership Council is to invite continued innovation, shape a diverse and safe community, and prepare future leaders within the athletic training profession.
Values
The Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association (District 5) Student Leadership Council promises to implement and withhold the following standards and values:

Objectives
The primary objectives of the D5ATSLC shall be:
To create a memorable annual convention
-By increasing the involvement and attendance of students in the MAATA at state, district and national levels
-By providing a relevant student session(s) that appeals to the interests of the student population
To develop leadership
-By providing resources and opportunities for students to gather information about the profession of athletic training
-By providing opportunities for leadership and assisting in the building of leadership skills
To further the athletic training profession through enhanced communication and transparency
-By developing networking opportunities within the district
-By advocating for the needs of the student population of MAATA
Additional objectives of the D5ATSLC are as follows:
Promote involvement and increase opportunities for students within District 5.
-By increasing the number of student members of the MAATA.
-By promoting attendance at conferences and clinical symposia at the state, district and national level.
Assist in bridging the gap between students and Certified Athletic Trainers.
-By encouraging communication and providing opportunities for networking between students and Certified Athletic Trainers.
Assist in networking between the colleges and universities within District 5.
-By hosting events and providing opportunities for networking for students.
-Promote the profession of athletic training from a student perspective.
-By improving the student section at the MAATA Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposia.
-By acting as a voice for the students of District V.
-By meeting the specific needs of the NATA student members of District 5.
