June 25th, 2015 was a special night for District 5. Not only were we hosting the 2015 NATA Hall of Fame Ceremony, we had the pleasure of watching the induction of one of our very own. On this night, Terry Noonan was announced as a member of the 2015 Class, and the latest District 5 members to join the NATA HOF. For a detailed list of past classes and recipients, click HERE.
Noonan was recognized for his many accomplishments and contributions to the profession and the Association. Terry is known as an effective leader and has served in countless roles at the state, district, and national level. A couple of his most notable offices included serving as the Executive Director for District 5 and Chair of the NATA Finance Committee. Noonan has always dedicated himself to service, and embodies that belief. He believes that you must take an active role in bringing about positive change in the profession. Anyone that has had the opportunity to talk with Terry about this aspect of his philosophy can probably paraphrase his common remark, “don’t complain unless you’re willing to get involved.”
Noonan’s co-workers and peers describe him as a consummate professional that is dedicated to educating those around him. Doug West stated, “Terry has always understood…it’s about a having a successful team around him…” To hear more comments from his peers, click HERE. This commitment to building strong teamwork and advocating for the profession are key elements that have led to this distinctive honor. “I am proud to be an athletic trainer,” stated Noonan. And we, District 5, are proud of Terry. We thank him for his commitment and leadership. To watch Terry Noonan’s induction speech, please click HERE.
