I hope this finds you all enjoying a break from the summer heat…hopefully you are not looking down the gun barrel of a rainy Friday or Saturday game coverage schedule.
I have a few of things for you to consider.
1. The NATA awards are open. I have posted lists on the maata.net website so you can easily see your colleagues who have attained the appropriate number of years for the award. I would like nothing better than for the NATA National convention to read like a who’s who of our district. Please visualize the list and consider nominating someone you think is deserving….I know we have a lot of qualified folks in our group.
2. The MAATA Awards and Nominations committee has added several awards, in addition to our Hall of Fame. There is now a Most Distinguished, AT Service, an above and beyond the call of duty award (named in honor of Dr Denis Isrow), an educator of the year, a woman and ethnic diversity award. Please see the attached handout for details. Again please nominate your colleagues for these awards.
3. The mentoring committee is still in need of mentors and mentees for the pilot project. Please contact Dr Jay Hoffman via the MAATA Newsletter email account. email@example.com<mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org>
4. Make plans now to attend the MAATA Annual Convention and Clinical Symposium. It will be in Des Moines this spring. It will be near our normal weekend starting on March 27th and running through march 29th. Keep an eye on the maata.net website. (Which we are in the process of finding a vendor to upgrade.)
Thank you for your time and attention….I will look forward to seeing you in Des Moines, if your schedule allows.
