Kansas Athletic Trainers Hit the Hill in Topeka, for the 1st Annual “Hit the Hill Day”.  Led and coordinated by John Burns and the KATS Board of Directors, members were able to visit with 47 Legislators; athletic trainers were able to promote athletic training as a licensed healthcare profession with unique qualifications and expertise which is cost-effective and provides a positive effect on patient outcomes.

KATS President Mark Padfield and Dr. Phill Vardiman presented to the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee and to the House Health and Human Services Committee. Both presentations were very well received and it appears athletic training has good support in the Kansas Legislature.
